The lights are on
Ubisoft's gonzo Far Cry standalone spinoff has posted strong sales so far, topping the 500,000 mark.
In an interview with Games Industry International, Ubisoft head Yves Guillemot said that the company's digital-only products have been a strong area of growth. In particular, he cited Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon as having sold over 500,000 downloads in two months. Guillemot also said that the game caused an increase in sales of the original Far Cry 3. This success will likely cause Ubisoft to look into creating more standalone spinoff titles like Blood Dragon based on its successful franchises in the future.
The success of Blood Dragon shouldn't be a surprise, as its one of the year's most entertaining games.

Dang, that's quite a landmark for a DLC pack short of Super Luigi. No wonder they want to start off a new franchise off of it. From what I've seen of it, it sounds golden.
I was so happy my new video card came with a copy of this since I was holding off till I was done with the ME trilogy
