The lights are on
Each year, 30 North American video game publications come together to honor the best and brightest of the Electronics Entertainment Expo. In addition to the parade of exciting titles, this year sees the nomination record broken.
Titanfall received bids in six categories, breaking the previous record of five. Also of note, the Oculus Rift is up for the "Best of Show" award, in addition to its nomination in the hardware category.
EA holds sixteen bids, and Sony triumphed over its competitors with ten first-party nominations (compared to three each for Microsoft and Nintendo).
Here's the full list of categories and competitors:
Best of Show
Best Original Game
Best Console Game
Best Handheld Game
Best PC Game
Best Action Game

Please note the following games were not made playable to Game Critics judges and therefore disqualified from award consideration: The Division; Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain; The Witcher III; Super Smash Bros. i dont agree but what else is new
Best of show has a nice little list. Destiny looks awesome, same with watch dogs
I assume Titanfall will win most categories and Zelda will win best handheld.
Shin Megami Tensei IV!!! Bayonetta 2!!!!! Pokemon X and Y!!!! Kingdom Hearts 3!!! Final Fantasy XV!!!! Ryse!!!! Super Smash bros!!! X!!!! Ahhhh I loved E3! How could I forget Legend of Zelda 3D? :D
Thank You game critics for staying true and only nominating playable games.
Game of show for me is a toss up between Destiny, Watch Dogs and Infamous Second Son. I have to agree with the consensus about Titanfall, I think it looks good but not as amazing as all of the outlets are making it out to be. On another note, why is Fantasia nominated for anything, that game looks awful.
