The lights are on
Created by a group of artists and hackers for presentation at the Nuit Blanche Festival in London, Ontario, this mod allows players to roll a real giant ball in order to play Katamari.
The controller was created for part of a big Katamari-inspired art instillation at the festival that featured people in costumes, a giant Katamari ball for people to glue objects on, and lots of original art pieces. The ball was created by Chris McInnis and Ron LeBlanc with help from Eric Gradman and Kellbot, who had already been doing their own experiments with giant tracking balls and Katamari mods.
You can check out the video of the game being played below. Hopefully, this will be one of the first mods for Virtuix's omnidirectional treadmill.

Wow, that's got to be the largest peripheral I've ever seen.
Soooo... this is how the world will end?
This is the weirdest thing I've seen all day, but probably the most awesome.
yo why is this even necesarry? seems like a waste of time and money IMO lol. They should make it so with the Xbox one (preordered it) when like you run in place the kinect sees and the balls move. could be cool but I aint into this japanese stuff lol
That was pretty neat. Katamari's one of my favorite series. That reminds me, I need to download Beautiful Katamari off Xbox Live sometime.
FUN!!!
