The lights are on
Update: Yesterday, the Armikrog Kickstarter revealed that Nintendo was interested in bringing the game to Wii U. Today, developer Pencil Test Studios announced that the game will come to Wii U, as long as the Kickstarter is able to reach its stretch goal of $950,000.
Along with the newly added stretch goal, a few concept drawings were added that show how the game might take advantage of the Wii U GamePad. You can check them out in the gallery below.
The game is still short of its initial $900,000 goal with four days to go. If you're interested in backiing the project, head here. Backers who pledge enough to receive a digital copy of the game will also receive a code to download the Wii U version of the game – as long as the game is able to meet its goals.
Armikrog, the Kickstarter hopeful clay-animated point-and-click adventure game from the creators of Earthworm Jim and The Neverhood, might come to Wii U.
Nothing is set in stone yet, but according to the game's Kickstarter page, Nintendo reached out to Pencil Test Studios shortly after E3 about bringing the game to Wii U.
"After E3 we were contacted by Nintendo and we're talking to them about the possibility of releasing Armikrog on the Wii U. There's nothing concrete to report yet, but we're encouraged by their interest and we'd like to see it happen."
The game seems like it could be a good fit for the system, especially if you can use the GamePad to tap around the environment to solve puzzles. Hopefully we will learn more soon.
In the meantime, Armikrog is still short of its Kickstarter goal with only four days to go. To learn more about the game, you can head to its Kickstarter page, or check out our original post about the game.

Based off that screenshot, the connection to Earthworm Jim might be a little too obvious.
This game has to be made, that much is clear, but let's face it - it needs a bloody miracle to survive with such current length of the deadline...
After reading this update, Nintendo would be moronic to not fund the remaining amount at the deadline of this kick starter. They have some amazing Indie games on the WiiU already and these are great selling points for the WiiU.
I hope they can reach the goal. This game looks interesting, and the more games the Wii U can get, the better.
somone needs to tell Nintendo to fund the remainder ASAP! Theyd e stupid to pass up this awesomely original title! It could be the next big thing! Looks great, Im backing!
well kiss this goodbye, though i would do anything to see this happen, they are just under 300k from their deadline IN 3 DAYS... adding another 50k has just made me sadder cause very likely it wont make it to wii let alone be released period.
Saw a typo, saw Kyle Hilliard wrote the article, made sense. I love you Kyle!
With only 3 days left I really hope this somehow gets a hell of a lot of coverage..I mean god it looks brilliant..a claymation stop motion alien point and click by the creators or earthworm Jim? My god..
They have now reported that they are an official licensed Wii U developer!
I want this for Wii U.
Well, with that announcement, it's certain we won't be seeing this on Wii U - there's no way they're going to get $250,000 this late in the game at the rate they've been going.
You know...if every backer added just 20 bucks more for an extra copy of the game or something, it would be funded fully. If not very close to it.
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!
Darn it all, I need a Wii U.
