The lights are on
Now that E3 is over, we finally have time to catch up with The Last of Us. Unfortunately, the excitement from last week might have been too much for our news editor, Mike Futter.
Mike Futter: This weekend I will be choking people in Animal Crossing: New Leaf and decorating my house in The Last of Us. I think I have that right...
Tim Turi: I just beat The Last of Us last night and have been processing the game’s subtle, mature story ever since. So with that grim experience behind me, I turn my eyes to the feel-good experiences of State of Decay and Metro: Last Light. Thank god I’ve been consistently immersed in the colorful saccharine world of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, otherwise these would be dark days for my gaming routine.
Kyle Hilliard: When I am not nursing my Picross e addiction, I will be skipping through the wastelands of America with Joel and Ellie in The Last of Us. I also need to finish up the new Arrested Development season, and watch the last episode of Game of Thrones. We were in Los Angeles for E3 when it aired.
Ben Hanson: This weekend I'm going to be playing a lot more State of Decay. It's janky, but it's an unbelievable survival RPG on the 360. I'm really, really enjoying it. Other than that, I'll probably buy turnips from a boar or something in Animal Crossing.
Jeff Marchiafava: This weekend is going to be all about surviving the apocalypse. I’m about halfway through The Last of Us, and hope to finish that up – I’m enjoying the game so much I might even check out the multiplayer. I already want to try another playthrough of the game on a harder difficulty, but before I jump back in, I’m going to check out State of Decay. I followed the development of the game for over a year, and with E3 behind us, I look forward to finally getting to play it.
Matt Akers: I’m replaying KOTOR for the iPad now, and my goal for the weekend is to finish my romance with Bastila. She’s much sassier than I remembered, and I kind of like it.
Brian Albert: I’m only three or four hours into The Last of Us, so I need to finish that before I move on to anything else. I think enough people have talked about State of Decay that I’m now obligated to check it out.
I'm going to beat Bioshock Infinite this weekend, regardless of the copy I got having autosave problems.
If I finish that, then I will dive into Dead Space 3 which I got along with Infinite with the buy 2 get one free coupon, along with Metal Gear Solid HD collection which I fail at.
I'll try to unlock every achievement in Red Dead Redemption.
HL 2 , man I wanna see you guys do a super replay of that.
I finished The Last of Us... And cant being myself to play anything this weekend. I feel quite overwhelmed by it.
Animal Crossing. I'm addicted to it.
so far I've started a second playthrough of The Last of Us and played around in the multiplayer when a friend with no internet came over and wanted to see what it was like. Absolutely loved the game, definitely in my top 5 all time with a good case for 1, 2, or 3. Other than that I want to play a bit of Uncharted 2 or 3 and maybe pick up Resistence 2 for cheap. Never played past the first game
Just wrapped up The Last of Us. Best Naughty Dog game since Jak and Daxter (the whole series, I can't pick a favorite). I leave town for a week or so I'll be playing Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers while on the trip and then when I get back (assuming I'm not totally immersed in that) I'll start up another playthrough of Planescape Torment. It's been a while since I played that and I need to tide myself over until Tides of Nemenera. Then I'll start clearing out my backlog.
Fallout 3, Skyrim, The Last of Us, Xcom: Enemy Unknown and Borderlands 2
Well since I'm at work till 500pm I can't play games right now. But when I get off I will be playing some more of Defiance, I absolutely love the game. I also will probably try and finish up Tomb Raider and I have to say that it is a magnificent game. And maybe if I have time when it gets dark outside and all the lights off in the house, I will play some more of my Dead Space 3 new game+ mode, gotta love Dead Space.
Well, finals exams are over, and my summer is here! WOO! I'm so happy to be done with this quarter. Anyhow, I'll definitely be playing the Last of Us - loving that game! And I might buy Dead Island: Riptide through Steam's weekend deal. Other than those things, I'll be doing some writing projects that I haven't had the chance to dig into until now.
Just finished The Last Of Us. Will be getting New Super Luigi U, and playing the rented Kid Icarus Uprising.
My original plan was to start a Survivor+ playthrough of The Last of Us, but I need a break from that bleak, tear-jerking game. So I decided to restart Castlevania: Lords of Shadow instead. Hooray for backlog clearing!
Going to continue reading through the first book of A Song of Ice and Fire series. Probably get back to playing the Last of Us at some point and do some random maintenence things in SWToR. My interest in the Last of Us has been back and forth so I'm not trying to force feed myself the game.
Xcom, Animal Crossing, and Planetside 2 are what I'm planning but I'll probably just end up playing my favorite Legend of Zelda games.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and more Animal Crossing: New Leaf. :) Ever since I got Animal Crossing: New Leaf on June 11th, i've been playing it everyday for approximately 10 hours a day (that is what my 3DS's activity log tells me). It's such a fun game! I love it so much! It was definitely worth the 3-year wait and was my best $35 ever spent. In addition to that, i'll be picking up Game & Wario from my local GameStop tomorrow. I won't be able to play it after I get it since I don't have a Wii U yet, but i'm going to get one either this week or next week (I'm waiting for the 4th of July sales to kick in before I buy one.).
I am going to attempt to get through the final airship battle in Bioshock Infinite on hard difficulty this weekend. I managed to get through after more than a few tries the first time on normal, so I am unsure how I will fair this time. Aside from that, it will be work mostly and relaxing.
Gonna finish cleaning up the Morningstar in Saints Row 3 and put down my preorder for 4.
I'm playing The Last of Us, New Super Luigi U, and Zelda Oracle of Ages this weekend. It should be fun.
I've been working through the different side quests on Skyrim, but I'm going to take a break an start playing LOTR: War in the North.
