The lights are on
Now that E3 is over, we finally have time to catch up with The Last of Us. Unfortunately, the excitement from last week might have been too much for our news editor, Mike Futter.
Mike Futter: This weekend I will be choking people in Animal Crossing: New Leaf and decorating my house in The Last of Us. I think I have that right...
Tim Turi: I just beat The Last of Us last night and have been processing the game’s subtle, mature story ever since. So with that grim experience behind me, I turn my eyes to the feel-good experiences of State of Decay and Metro: Last Light. Thank god I’ve been consistently immersed in the colorful saccharine world of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, otherwise these would be dark days for my gaming routine.
Kyle Hilliard: When I am not nursing my Picross e addiction, I will be skipping through the wastelands of America with Joel and Ellie in The Last of Us. I also need to finish up the new Arrested Development season, and watch the last episode of Game of Thrones. We were in Los Angeles for E3 when it aired.
Ben Hanson: This weekend I'm going to be playing a lot more State of Decay. It's janky, but it's an unbelievable survival RPG on the 360. I'm really, really enjoying it. Other than that, I'll probably buy turnips from a boar or something in Animal Crossing.
Jeff Marchiafava: This weekend is going to be all about surviving the apocalypse. I’m about halfway through The Last of Us, and hope to finish that up – I’m enjoying the game so much I might even check out the multiplayer. I already want to try another playthrough of the game on a harder difficulty, but before I jump back in, I’m going to check out State of Decay. I followed the development of the game for over a year, and with E3 behind us, I look forward to finally getting to play it.
Matt Akers: I’m replaying KOTOR for the iPad now, and my goal for the weekend is to finish my romance with Bastila. She’s much sassier than I remembered, and I kind of like it.
Brian Albert: I’m only three or four hours into The Last of Us, so I need to finish that before I move on to anything else. I think enough people have talked about State of Decay that I’m now obligated to check it out.
Last of Us. Single player and multiplayer. At a pretty tough point in the single player....tons of guys, little to no ammo and health, and hardly any bottles to throw for distractions....
The Last of Us...is there anything else worth doing?
Animal Crossing New Leaf is where all my free time is going! I love that game! Great to see "Weekend Warrior" up this week. It's been really busy with E3 and what not. Welcome back GI Staff.
Hopefully i finish up Red Dead Redemption. I am also playing some Crash Bandicoot 3 because it is awesome and I really want to play the Last of US but I have no PS3. :(
I'm finishing up a marathon of Friday the 13th movies today (should've waited until the next Friday the 13th, but that isn't until September). I might play something later tonight, and throughout the weekend I will be playing a mixture of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Mercenaries 2: World in Flames. There's a good chance I'll toss in some Halo 4 for multiplayer, and maybe a little bit of Injustice - I finished the story mode, and the story itself was great, but I still haven't made up my mind about it; the purchase feels like a waste (sadly I missed the Power Hour when it was ten dollars). I also might play some other games, this kind of thing is never set in stone. I'm also greatly looking forward to getting Assassin's Creed II and Halo 3 in July - two free games per month with Xbox Live Gold, and the July games just happen to be two of the great games I still need to play through this generation.
Already completed TLoU. Easily my favorite game of this gen, and possibly my favorite game ever. Anyway, hopefully GI is planning on doing a Spoiled! for it. There's a lot to talk about with that game.
After The Last of Us, I'm looking forward to taking a break with Saints Row The Third.
I'm going to be playing quite a few things. Need to finish The Last of Us on Survivor, twice, and get through the multiplayer. I can't seem to win the TDM mode and it's really ticking me off. More Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Pokemon White version 2, and Fire Emblem. Still breaking in my new 3DS. :D
Hopefully, I can convince someone to take me to the movies as I have not been since The Hobbit came out but in the mean time I'm sitting down and watching the Ghost in the Shell movie.
For me it will be warframe during the day, and at night I continue to watch soul eater, Deadman Wonderland, and teach my sister to play Injustice, because she loves dc comics.
Final Fantasy XIII, Castlevania LoS and Resident Evil Revelations.
Going to hit up multi-player in TLOU and see what it is like. Already finished up the story on hard and survivor. Really love the game, but disappointed in the shoddy AI.
Decided to finally play Alan Wake after getting it on steam, also picked up Deadly Premonition on PSN. Never played it either.
Probably also play some Black Ops 2, and hit up some of the free downloads on PSN.
I'm going through my second play through on State of Decay and I'm telling ya. I'm addicted, you just get so much satisfaction when you find an awesome gun to kill zombies with.
Finish playing the last of us. Start on Phoenix Wright: Justice for all. Maybe try and finish God of war if I feel like it. Have a good weekend everyone.
The Last of Us, of course.
