The lights are on
We knew that Eidos Montréal's Thief was coming to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Today, we've got some interesting news for those hoping to play on current consoles.
According to a post on the official Thief community blog, the game play experience will be the same, regardless of which system you'll be playing on. Additionally, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions will launch on the same day as the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One editions.

I sort of doubt that the game play experience will be the same, that's pretty much why we decide for ourselves on which platform to play a game like this but it's still great news. I'll be getting it for PC, I loved the old games, and I can't wait to play a Thief game again.
This is dumb. I think this will become a trend in 2014. Thief should have stayed next gen, which is the version I will be getting.
Well, this is really unexpected. I'm a bit worried about all of these cross-platform games. I know there will be a visual downgrade, but I hope it's handled at least as well as, say, the console versions versus the pc version of Metro: Last Light (where you are getting a good-looking, smooth experience regardless).
I'll wait for reviews of the current gen version then! :)
Well, that's great!
depending on when this will come out next year, this will be my first ps4 game
Well, that's good news considering that I wasn't planning to get a PS4/X1 this year. I'll definitely get this if the differences aren't that big.
Odd. I figured they were going to stick with next-gen only. Oh well, I was pretty indifferent about the game, having not played any of the Thief games and not being a fan of the stealth genre.
I really hope this game is good. The E3 demo I watched on the internet is giving me doubts.
