The lights are on
Shortly after the announcement of Sunset Overdrive during Microsoft's E3 press conference, Insomniac's CEO Ted Price posted a message on the company's website offering a few more details about the game, and why it's exclusive to Xbox One.
The trailer showcased a parkour runner taking on mutants in what appeared to be an abandoned city. The game's official description reads, "With an arsenal of kick-a**, overpowered weapons and a knack for traversing the city with hyper agility, it’s not the end of days for you. Your story is just beginning.” Here is Price's reasoning for making the game an Xbox One exclusive:
"It may surprise some of our longtime fans that we have partnered with Microsoft Studios to develop Sunset Overdrive exclusively for Xbox One. When we first began discussing this idea with Microsoft, we were initially hesitant to shift back into an exclusive arrangement. But as the Microsoft team began introducing us to the abilities and philosophies driving the development of Xbox One, we knew that Sunset Overdrive was a perfect fit. The Xbox One and Xbox Live will support our ambitions to create an ongoing two-way dialogue with our community. It will also allow us to have quicker production cycles, enabling timely content updates for new weapons, characters, storylines and even pop culture-relevant content like memes based on social commentary."

If this was a PS4 exclusive you all would be saying how this is the best game ever.
So they decided to not be exclusive to Sony anymore so they could reach a bigger audience BUT they then turn around and make there next game exclusive to Xbox1. Nice try Ted. We know this is all about the money.
What a shame, considering they created one of my favorite game franchises in R&C. Not all that into their other games though, even though Resistance was pretty good.
You know you got into a bad relationship when you are apologizing to the public. "I am sorry we didn't know about the diseases we would contract, but we hope you will still visit once this relationship is over."
"More money, more problems."
I'm still not 100% what to even say about this.
The only good titles Insomniac has produced post-Spyro have all been Ratchet and clank titles. Add this to the list of bad games for insomniac.
good luck hope you sell enough of this game cause there wont be enough xbox one's sold to get you the number's you will be looking for.......lol.....
*BAGS AND BAGS OF MONEY*
and sony hasn't done that for you?
"It will also allow us to have quicker production cycles, enabling timely content updates for new weapons, characters, storylines and even pop culture-relevant content like memes based on social commentary"
Why do people have to drag memes into this? This is just silly. I'm all for new weapons, characters, storylines, all that, but pop-culture stuff is just annoying personally.
Wow, can anyone else smell all that bs?
I'm sorry that they didn't choose my choice of platform too.
First off, I am sure Insomniac is really regretting this decision after the PR slaughter, secondly its kind of a Dick move to your biggest fans to take it to a big system developer you have made one game for, that was not even an exclusive, and third considering what happened to fuse after that charming trailer, count me out.
