The lights are on
State of Decay, the very successful Xbox Live Arcade game, send out its first patch recently, and it's causing some problems.
Basically, the issues that were supposed to be addressed by the patch (you can check out the patch notes here), are simply not being addressed. There was some kind of error with the patch, and while some people have been lucky and are reporting that the patch has been successful, the majority are still experiencing problems. Developer Undead Labs has identified the problem, however, and released a statement on the game's official message boards. You can check out part of the statement below.
"First, I want to apologize. This is not acceptable, and you deserve better than this.Second, we're on the phone with our publisher right now getting everyone mobilized. There's nothing we can do at UL to fix this problem. Once the update has been handed off, the process of getting it to you is something only the Xbox people can handle. So, we're calling in the troops to get going on solving this problem immediately.Third, although we can't directly fix the problem, you are OUR players, and we'd like you to know we're exploring ways to express our appreciation for your patience. In the meantime, see "first."I wanted to let you know what was going on as soon as we had it nailed down. We don't have an ETA on a solution (see "second"). Stay tuned for more information as we get it."

Huh. I never seem to get the worst glitches in this game...the only one I had WAS fixed by the patch.
I hope that even as their massive success grows they'll still be direct to their consumers like this.
Hope the situation gets cleared up as soon as possible, good job on the explanation UL.
This is how developers should be. No one is perfect, so when a mistake is made, this is how their reaction should be. Even though the situation is completely different, Gearbox can learn a few things from Undead Labs.
That's pretty good of the dev's to come out and say it plainly whats going on with this. I hope they can get it patched soon.
It's too bad, with the Xbox One you don't have the option to forgo playing offline and choosing not to accept a patch that makes things worse. As it is you have to accept a patch for a game or not play it while connected.
Now that sort of accountability is rare nowadays so it is nice to see it.
I have been considering this game since it came out but GI's review deterred me until a patch was made. After they get this fixed I am going to buy just because of how cool these guys are. Honesty and humility are so hard to find these days.
Good to see that kind of accountability, but look, Microsoft not doing anything for the consumer
Very classily handled UL, mucho kudos to you.
So I'm not the only one who has friends at the base they can't use because the game thinks they are "On a Mission" but in reality they are standing around the base doing jack ***. And also they constantly go missing for who the hell knows what reason. I like the game alot but I'm not gonna play until its fixed.
Its a really great game for an arcade game
