The lights are on
Series director Hideo Kojima says that Metal Gear Online is being developed concurrently with Metal Gear Solid V.
Kojima told CVG, “Yes, we plan on creating Metal Gear Online. Multiplayer right now is being created at our LA studio as well as us. We're working closely to create a vast multiplayer for all the fans.”
It’s unclear whether Kojima is referring to a standalone product in the vein of the previous Metal Gear Online, or simply confirming some kind of online component to MGS V.
In any case, Metal Gear Solid V has been generating tons of buzz for what appears to be a powerfully ambitious approach to current- and next-gen gameplay, and the inclusion of online play in any fashion can only serve to push the envelope even farther.
Metal Gear Solid V is confirmed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. No release window has been announced.

Interesting
That's it. Kojima and MGSV win video games. It's over stop making making video games because this will be the pinnacle.
It'd be cool if there was a multiplayer component that allowed you to create your own Diamond Dogs operative, then join other players in co-op missions that reward profits for your single player campaign.
Give it to me. Now.
Yeah that's great but when is it going to be RELEASE!!!!!!
It's also been confirmed for PC! Adam's the PC Editor and yet even he forgets it. *sigh* GI rarely seems to favor the PC.
I'm so excited!
