The lights are on
Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai says that 3DS and Wii U players won’t be able to face off in Nintendo’s upcoming brawler.
Sakurai told Joystiq that because of the differently laid out stages in the two versions, cross-platform play is impossible. However, you can take characters that you’ve customized (in some fashion, which he did not elaborate on) from the 3DS version and import them somehow to the Wii U.
Super Smash Bros. comes out next year on Wii U and 3DS. For more on the title, check out Sakurai’s own video preview of some of the new characters.
Well, yeah. So? They'll still both be great.
I thought it said players on the wii u and 3ds will not be able to play super smash bros. I was like what the heck Microsof,t but then I picked up what was put down.
I guess it's still cool that we might be able to import the characters we've unlocked from the each game.
This kind of sucks...
Makes sense
I wish there had been Cross-Play.
At least I can still hope that we there's some online mode able to hold 6 Players or 8 Players Multiplayer Battles
Imagine being the man who survived a Free for All 10-Player Multiplayer Battle!
I expected PS-All Stars Battle Royale to be capable of that, I thougth there were going to be 10-Player Multiplayer Battles there and that, that those Battles were going to be the thing to get people complaining about it being similar to Smash to buy it and was pretty dissapointed when I learned it was still only 4Players. I hope this Smash Bros does 10Player Battles.
Im also still waiting for Free a patch in Smash Bros Brawl, a Patch that replaces Lucario with Mewtwo, or that give us Mewtwo, or that at least removes Lucario from the game at all. As I hated Lucario, because Mewtwo is so much more Bad-Ass
When I saw the Direct, I assumed they wouldn't be due to the graphical differences. I had hoped, but this doesn't surprise me nor change the fact I'll be getting it day one.
