The lights are on
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot says that his company has three titles from three different teams in production for the blockbuster franchise.
Speaking with Kotaku, Guillemot said, “We are making sure the teams who are creating the different iterations have enough time – two years, three years, so that they can take risk and they can change the concept enough so that it can be appealing and fresh.”
Presumably, the three titles Guillemot is referring to are Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and the next two annual installments. It’s possible that he means ACIV, next year’s game, and some sort of mobile spin-off, but that would make it tough for the ACIV team to have two years on whatever the 2015 title ends up being.
Disappointing what this series has come to.
Assassin's Creed: The Facebook game.
Didn't they announce a PS Vita title at E3? I thought I remembered something like that
See this? This is why the series is no longer good. Revelations was terrible, and ASC3 was boring and bland as the protagonist. Ubisoft has killed this franchise for me, and I hope its happy. I really wish these would stop selling to show what happens when you stop caring and start manufacturing but they will. Because why the hell not, might as well prove that bland garbage makes more money than actually unique and new concepts, because hey why not.
I'm worried. We want quality over quantity. Give the production cycle at least two years. It will never be a good outcome.
Ubisoft slow down. Your fans and our wallets can't handle this.
I'm a huge fan of AC but holy crap thats a lot.
uh i don't know what to think about this
Nice to see they're planning ahead for the future but let's hope they can keep things fresh into AC V and VI (if those are indeed the other two games mentioned).
The AC series definitely has a lot of potential but Ubisoft has to be careful about what sorts of directions they take the series in.
I think they're making too many Assansin Creed games. I know that I've already been drained out since getting the 4th one and haven't gotten anymore.
The only positive I see in having up to three separate games in development is that each studio has three years to create and polish, which is a very good timeframe that should, starting from the second or maybe even the third game, leave no more excuse for bugs and glitches.
Looks like too much of the same thing over and over.
AC going yearly? well...
this is too much...come on now...
I really wish this series would take some time off. Then maybe it would get better.
Are you people kidding me? It's not like they just started IV last year. They've been working on this for at least two maybe even three years. And they said after Brotherhood that they wanted yearly releases. 3 was disappointing, but I think IV will be a lot better. As long as they keep up with interesting stories, I'll buy AC. We knew about this a LONG time ago.
