The lights are on
This week started off as an uphill battle for Microsoft, which has frustrated a segment of the core market with its statements on used games and online connectivity. The situation only got more challenging when Sony dropped three consecutive bombs: no used game restrictions, no online connection requirements, and a price $100 (20 percent lower) than the Xbox One.Yesterday, in a conversation with Geoff Keighly on Game Trailers, Microsoft president of interactive entertainment Don Mattrick had this to say when confronted with a question about online connectivity in challenging locales.
When posed the question of people who simply can't connect to the internet due to location or quality of service, Mattrick advises that those consumers simply buy an Xbox 360.
We reached out to Microsoft earlier this morning and are still awaiting their comment on the matter.

Xbox is done for due to greedy execs and businessmen. He said that it was built by gamers for gamers and it WASN'T. It was built by greedy execs and for mainstream media companies and Television consumers. And the corporate check-in every 24 hours or you don't get to play is a vile, horrible thing to do. Starts to make me think of the PRISM leak.
ITS HABBENINGNG BEAOPEL
ITS HABBENINGNG BEAOPEL!!!
I wrote this on other forums but as long as MS keeps pumping out the BS, I'm gonna keep saying it.
If I were in a position to "right the ship" (which of course I'm not but wish I were), I would take a page from Nintendo and start sucking it up, take the feedback, come clean and admit that they misjudged their audience. Very simply explain, "in light of the outpouring of consumer feedback, and in the spirit of giving our customers exactly what they want, we will re-evaluate the policies and business model we designed with not only our consumers but publishers and retailers best interests at heart. This opportunity to receive our consumers' valuable feedback has shown us that there is still a need to accommodate the best interests of our retailers and publishers while providing our consumers with unhindered, unrestricted access to the games they own and how they play. We will embrace this opportunity and deliver a solution that pleases all."
Press release over. Feel free to use it
This system is getting more and more ridiculous as new "developments" unfold. Conflicting reports for what should be a simple show and tell about a next gen gaming console that enhances a GAMER'S experience is what this should have turned out to be. Instead Microsoft creates a glorified cable box that also has the ability to play games. Microsoft has completely lost focus on what the XBOX was supposed to offer...a fresh alternative in a world of other consoles. Now they have a reputation of screwing the poor and a "so what" attitude to those who would not have the capability of operating their product. Shame on you Microsoft, my hard-earned funds will now go directly to Sony for staying true to their vision and focusing on we as GAMERS. This holiday season's numbers (and beyond) will show your core market disapproving of your lack of focus and integrity. Good riddance XBOX.
Go to http://www.xboxshun.com/ and express how about XBOX One restrictions.
What about the people who already own a 360 without internet "yes there is a ton of them YOU GOOBER Mattrick! YOU'RE A GOOBER!" that want an FRIGGEN XBOX ONE!!! It's like they don't even think there are people who own an xbox 360 without internet........this guy is infuriating. People don't want an Xbox 360 they want the new consoles now so you should be saying "go it a PS4" because that's what you're really saying "well you don't have internet than this console is not for you".
I'm going PS4 this gen, no doubt in my mind. Microsoft can suck it.
That's funny.. I'll be on and stationed with a nuclear sub for the next 5 years.. I'll be buying a PS4.
We can't use it until we buy it, so all we have are what you say and the actual policies. We aren't gonna buy something with these policies.
Please direct all microsoft executive's attention to the poll on the front page.
Oh MS, just keep on digging a deeper hole for yourself.
I used the 360 as my main console for the last 4 years and I love it; but my live runs out in 1 week and I have no plan to renew it as I don't support a company who is so against pleasing the consumers instead of your profit margin.
Going back to my good old fat version PS3 until PS4 release.
I was all about Xbox until yesterday. I would defend everything about them against Sony. When Sony announced the price and policies of the ps4 the only thing I could do for MS is feel for them. Cause it ain't gonna be pretty come November.
Living in that bubble is only going to bring more success, eh, Mattrick?
Anyone want to wager that Mattrick is gone in early 2014?
Good job Microsoft. You're screwed.
yea way to go Microsoft just reaffirming my plans to not purchase an Xbox one
