The lights are on
This week started off as an uphill battle for Microsoft, which has frustrated a segment of the core market with its statements on used games and online connectivity. The situation only got more challenging when Sony dropped three consecutive bombs: no used game restrictions, no online connection requirements, and a price $100 (20 percent lower) than the Xbox One.Yesterday, in a conversation with Geoff Keighly on Game Trailers, Microsoft president of interactive entertainment Don Mattrick had this to say when confronted with a question about online connectivity in challenging locales.
When posed the question of people who simply can't connect to the internet due to location or quality of service, Mattrick advises that those consumers simply buy an Xbox 360.
We reached out to Microsoft earlier this morning and are still awaiting their comment on the matter.

All my franchise games (ie Dragon Age, Mass Effect ect. where previous games choices can have affects in the current game) are on the Xbox 360, and I've been a dedicated fan of Halo. But so far this year it seems ill be getting a new Xbox 360 and saving for a PS4. Sorry Microsoft but im jumping the wagon, your hatred and disregard of gamers has put me off.
Wow that was an answer only the greatest of (Donkey round orifices) could come up with. The folks at Microsoft have gone soft in the head.
Hey I always said it the 360 and the original Xbox is better than that piece of crap Xbone combine together. Just shows ya Microsoft shot their foot now their gonna have to dig themselves into debt when their so called new console doesn't sell well.
wow, that's just telling all those people to fk themselves and just get a 360, what an ***
lol when he asked did you think gamers would push back and he said no i call bs on that
Funny how the rumor mill initially had us thinking Sony would be doing all the same things as Microsoft. How the tides of turned.
I can just picture Sony execs munching the popcorn as they watch this show.
im just going to get both in the first few months and still have my pc and 360 for games like GTA V although i might be more excited for the PS4 right now
I still want to know the friggin consequences of not signing in one day.
And why not take away the restrictions? Why is Microsoft being so arrogant right now?
People that aren't Don Mattrick: "Hey Don Mattrick, I could really use a new kidney but the one you brought me isn't compatible!"
Mattrick: "That's okay, just keep your old one"
Damage Control 101: When every word out of you mouth pisses off the consumer, STOP TALKING.
Microsoft is losing a lot of fans and, from the looks of things, aren't going to win many new ones. They really need to rethink their XBOX One designs and functions if they expect people to fork over $500 for it. They need to realize their customers aren't made of money and that not every person on the planet has internet. Telling them to buy a 360 instead certainly isn't helping.
Or maybe I'll just trade in my xbox 360 towards the PS4. Ever thought of that, Microsoft.
Someone needs to hand a football helmet to this moron.
Yeah YOUR internet connection works like that!! I live in South America and we've got a waaay smaller bandwith and lots of conection problems ¬¬
I can't believe he actually said that. I've always had Playstations just for the exclusivities but this actually sucks. It's one of the worst statements I've heard in a while
