The lights are on
Ubisoft is working with the Transformers director and Warner Bros. Pictures to produce a big-budget Hollywood film based on the tactical shooter franchise.
The company has been public about its quest to produce films based on its big franchises. Earlier this year, the news broke that Ubisoft was putting together a Hollywood pitch for Ghost Recon, and it produced a 25-minute short (below).
No further details are forthcoming at this time, other than the typical statements of excitement from Ubisoft. “Having one of Hollywood’s boldest feature film directors attached to bringing Ghost Recon to the big screen is a dream come true for us,” said Ubisoft Motion Pictures CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet via press release. “And with Warner Bros. unmatched track record of successfully producing, marketing and distributing big movies from the industry’s top talents, we think this project has huge potential.”
Michael Bay, of course, is famous for his blockbuster action films from Bad Boys to Armageddon and the three recent Transformers movies. He’ll lend a certain bombast to Ghost Recon on the silver screen if nothing else.

Kill me now.
To combine A123 and silent sniper comment sums it up. Oh hell no!
I love the Robot Chicken skit that makes fun of him. BAYSPLOSIONS!
i hope tom clancy is rolling over in his grave....what!? he's not dead? well if he gives the rights to that dumb ass ill put him in the grave along with his franchise.....
Sorry. I couldn't find a better quality video...
Who the hell thought that Bay would be the right choice for this film? His "style" is about as far removed from the tone and genre of Ghost Recon as you can get. While the movie may have the title Ghost Recon I can assure you it will not be representative of the franchise I love.
Good grief. Guess Ghost Recon must not put much value in its money if it's shelling out a boatload to Michael Bay when it could just be spending it on more games.
Well, we know one thing: there will be explosions.
just no, he makes just about the worst movies I've seen. Pass.
All ill say is sure he is.
As a fan of the series, and the TACTICAL games in the series all I have to say is.
Bhhahaha!!...are you guys serious? -____-
Remember when Ghost Recon was a series about tactics and strategy? I have so many fond memories of playing GRAW 2 on the difficulty, "The Real Ghost Recon". Absolutely brutal, one hit kills, enemies are geniuses, etc. But with Future Soldier, no one should really be surprised by the fact that this film will be "OMG 2 AND A HALF HOURS OF EXPLOSIOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNSSSSSSSSSS!!!". Future Soldier was just another mediocre me-too third person shooter, and I very much doubt that the Ghost Recon will actually return to its roots. In short, the movie is simply an indicator of the pathetic future of this once great series.
