The lights are on
Microsoft announced that the Xbox One will be available this November and it will cost $499.99.
There will be a single SKU and it will cost €499 and £429 in other territories, and releases in the same month. We were unsure if Microsoft was planning to announce the price of its new console at E3, or if it was planning to withhold the information for a later date.
The Xbox 360 launched for $399.99 back in 2005.

dont forget the hundreds youll pay for online over the console's lifetime as well...
This is a little steep, but completely understandable, I hope Sony can at least match the price, as the cost will likely be a deciding factor for me. Also, I though E3 started tomorrow, so this is all a lot to digest.
They did not change my mind with the conference. The games weren't enough, always online, and the price is too high. I doubt that I will ever get a Xbox One. A price drop won't change my opinion either.
Not a bad price point considering a decent amount of the exclusives have me interested plus I plan on waiting a year anyways for the price to lower or their be a bundle that I want :)
Before E3, I would have Deff got a PS4. Now, I am not so sure. Let's see what Sony shows me.
I reallly reallly reallly want to love Xbox One, cause it's games line-up does seem really good, but the high price and constant DRM is turning me way off :/
I have to say, the price in pounds is a total ripoff. £430 is over 600 dollars, which is ridiculous compared to the US price.
A $500 price tag is not ridiculous at all. I'd gladly pay that if it weren't for the other issues.
Microsoft's explosion powered gun fest did not really impress me (not saying I didn't like some of the games like Phantom Pain, Ryse and Quantum Break but I was hoping for more than just prettier explosions and guns for $500 dollars). If the Sony press conference is anything like it, then I'll stick with this generation until the prices drop.
500 dollars!?....ok sony dont disappoint me
Sony can do better. They'd be wise if they do.
For a console targeting the casual market, $500 is a bit pricey. $199 would have been a much more competitive price point.
That settles it. I'm waiting 2-5 years to buy a next gen console unless that console is the Wii U.
I know that the price point for the PS4 and Xbox One games has not been announced yet, but I just received an email link to pre-order Watch Dogs on the PS4 for $99.99. If this is real, then who cares if the system is $500. That is insanity.
That was a good reveal from Microsoft. I am looking forward to what Sony has planned. I will pick up a ONE once the price hits below $299. See you in a few years ONE.
That's a reasonable price. Not cheap by any means, but affordable.
