The lights are on
Microsoft announced that the Xbox One will be available this November and it will cost $499.99.
There will be a single SKU and it will cost €499 and £429 in other territories, and releases in the same month. We were unsure if Microsoft was planning to announce the price of its new console at E3, or if it was planning to withhold the information for a later date.
The Xbox 360 launched for $399.99 back in 2005.

That's way to high. I wouldn't even want the kinect if i was even remotely interested in getting a the XBOX ONE. Since several of their games require the cloud which means always online just to play the single player. There's no way I would even considered the XBOX One.
Little bit expensive for my tastes. I understand that the PS4 or Xbox One won't be cheap, but still. Either way, the One won't be my first next gen console, that honor is reserved for the PS4. If Microsoft can show off more games like Titanfall, I might jump on the bandwagon and buy one before I go Nintendo as my second.
$500. Sticking to PC for a while. I'll just be a Watch Dog and see how this plays out over the next couple years...
Microsoft certainly made up for the lack of games at it's original presser, but the price is worrisome. We'll have to see what Sony brings to the table later today, but other than price Microsoft had a strong showing. Too bad by next year all the console developers will forgot how to appeal to gamers yet again.
I am not surprised by the cost.
This conference did restore my faith in Microsoft and xbox. I wasn't too impressed at their unveiling and was just waiting to see what gaming progress there has been.
Seems just about right. and with the two free games every month, this is looking really good.
i was unimpressed, and the price only reinforced that.
Hmm November is my birthday month I planned (and still sticking to the plan) on getting DmC hd edition and Ac1 is much cheaper. Plus Xbone may have good games but doesn't mean its off the hook or changed my mind. Plus the always online time limit thing yeah that console is off my list never gonna have Xbone. Either way go luck selling those console ya gonna need it.
If Sony's PS4 is actually the rumored $400 then that's a day one buy. This...is a little steep.
The exclusives i'm interested in will most likely end up on PC anyway so really not that set alight by the Press Conference...well apart from how stunning MGS5 was!
Frankly the only reason that I have to buy an Xbox One is Project Spark, and if that doesn't pan out...well I have a WiiU and hopefully the PS4 is only $400
