The lights are on
Microsoft announced that the Xbox One will be available this November and it will cost $499.99.
There will be a single SKU and it will cost €499 and £429 in other territories, and releases in the same month. We were unsure if Microsoft was planning to announce the price of its new console at E3, or if it was planning to withhold the information for a later date.
The Xbox 360 launched for $399.99 back in 2005.

Not to bad.
A lukewarm conference. A new Halo, which was cool, but it's a bit soon. If they make a yearly thing out of that I swear...Titanfal looke pretty awesome, and B4 was just more of the same. For $500? I need to see what Sony has to offer.
I guess I was expecting somewhere around $400-$500 for this generation. The Xbox One is getting some tempting games for it, but I'm still not sold; the fees, used game situation, and all of the other nasty things about the console still irk me.
The show wasn't bad and the price point is about what I expected from the console. I will wait to see what Sony says. From what I have heard GameStop is going to start accepting pre-orders for both consoles this week so I will get my money ready.
You know, I was expecting Microsoft to just completely disappoint everyone, but this wasn't bad. Dead Rising 3, Project Spark, Killer Instinct, Ryse, and Titanfall? Well played, Microsoft. But we'll see later tonight who gets my money when Sony has their conference.
$500? Way too much.
Your move Sony.
If Sony can come up with a cheaper price for the PS4, then I'm DEFINITELY going to buy the PS4. Although... the new Halo and Titanfall look like interesting exclusives. But I'll make my judgement when the Sony conference comes on later.
In my opinion, this is stretching it. I did not expect for the XBox One to be $500. I expected something around $400. To be honest, I expected the PS4 to be more expensive and around this price especially since the specs of the PS4 are better. I would be willing to spend $500 for the PS4, not this.
If I said I was surprised, I would be lying.
too much for something that'll be a brick if i have no net
the price is no surprise but i believe the Ps4 will be around 400. i think this because when they announced the ps3 for 500 and 600 they sold but not as well as they hoped and lost money. once they cut the price the ps3 started to sell very very well. i don't believe sony will make this mistake again
