by Kyle Hilliard on Jun 10, 2013 at 12:50 PM

Ubisoft has a new open-world persistent online racer in the works for next-gen consoles entitled The Crew.

The trailer showed a pre-rendered trailer of cars being built as they drove. Once the cars were fully assembled, they sped through the streets of a realistic world, traveling through cites, countryside,s and off-road.

In The Crew, you are tasked with infiltrating and taking over a criminal organizations one city at a time. Police officers were chasing the vehicles , but doing a poor job of capturing their targets. The trailer ends with the camera zooming out to show gamertags on other cars, eventually showing the United States.

Ubisoft’s Julian Gerghity then came on stage to talk about the game, and showcase a live demo. Gameplay was shown in New York City with racers outrunning the cops, off-road driving in South Dakota near Mt. Rushmore, and driving in Nevada with Las Vegas seen in the background. Racers drove through backyards, on the beach, and through roadside barriers. Nothing is off-limits. Lastly, Miami was exhibited with four cooperative racers trying to take a single criminal vehicle.

The Crew features lots of car customization, right down to the smallest details. You can also use your iPad to customize your car remotely.

We will know more about The Crew when we check out it on the floor. Stay tuned!
