The lights are on
Jack Tretton just won an enormous round of applause. He just
announced that the PlayStation 4 will not impose new used game
restrictions. The system will also not require online
authentication.Additionally, PlayStation Plus
memberships will carry over to PlayStation 4 with no additional cost.
Netflix and other services won't be behind a paywall. Oh, and your
instant collection will start on day one with DriveClub. It's not clear
whether it's the full version given the "PlayStation Plus edition"
sub-title. There will be a new free game every month, with three indie titlesincluding Don't Starve coming in the first months. One
interesting note is that Tretton was careful to state that
single-player content and media services (like Netflix) will be free
without a subscription. Be prepared to pay a fee for multiplayer. The response in the crowd seems to say it all, but what do you think? What are your plans for next generation?

Although i enjoyed the Microsoft conference that was freaking hilarious!! and that video........Lololololololol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bye Gamerscore hello Trophies!
I'm really happy right now
Happy with all of it. Not even bothered that multiplayer now requires PS Plus - that's been standard fare for Xbox users for years, there are plenty of PS Plus members already, and I understand Sony not wanting to cede such an obvious monetary advantage to MS.
Besides, they Chuck Norris'd them in every other way.
*rest of comment muffled due to running to closest GameStop for pre-ordering of Playstation 4*
What about size of Sony Hard drive.
And just like that, I'm sold on the PS4. Thank you Sony.
Sony won me over today
A Nintendo and a Sony in my living room, just like the good ol' days!
Sorry, MS. It's been fun and all, but you can't tell the market what it wants. The market tells you.
Sony just donkey punched Microsoft right where they should have!!! The price of $400 was just the icing on the cake! Making used games playable and no restrictions to having to be connected online! Microsoft has to be literally *** themselves right now as the should be!!
I already pay for PS+ and it's worth every penny. Already have numerous games for free and just downloaded Saint Row the Third. I don't mind paying for it if it means playing multi player, as it's already worth it to begin with. So hopefully it stays at an annual fee of $50. I will definitely be purchasing the PS4. Hate on me all you want, MS fanboys!
Microsoft just got backpacked by Sony HARD.
I've always preferred my 360 to my PS3, but it looks like the tables may turn in the new generation.
I'll still be picking up both, but Xbox One will be my first purchase. The online stuff is fine with me, the family setup takes care of anyone I'd share my games with, and I'll likely be purchasing digital from here on out, so trading games is moot anyway. I think Microsoft has the exclusives I'm most interested in, and the more interesting tech.
Congratulations, Sony. You won E3.
