The lights are on
Jack Tretton just won an enormous round of applause. He just
announced that the PlayStation 4 will not impose new used game
restrictions. The system will also not require online
authentication.Additionally, PlayStation Plus
memberships will carry over to PlayStation 4 with no additional cost.
Netflix and other services won't be behind a paywall. Oh, and your
instant collection will start on day one with DriveClub. It's not clear
whether it's the full version given the "PlayStation Plus edition"
sub-title. There will be a new free game every month, with three indie titlesincluding Don't Starve coming in the first months. One
interesting note is that Tretton was careful to state that
single-player content and media services (like Netflix) will be free
without a subscription. Be prepared to pay a fee for multiplayer. The response in the crowd seems to say it all, but what do you think? What are your plans for next generation?

Nail in the coffin for the Xbox One. Sony just saved my favorite hobby (on consoles anyway). Wii U and PS4 it is this gen ;P
I'm fine paying for online. After all, I've been paying for Xbox Live. I am SO HAPPY that there will be NO used game restriction or online requirement!!!! I love you Sony!! :)
MAN I LOVE SONY.
There might be a fee for online gaming BUT he never said there was so their might not be. However, if people get PS+ like I do then the change won't even be noticed.
Wow... Thats amazing. I bet Microsoft is super ticked. I bet they are like... "Hold on! You was supposed to say what we said!"
Thank you Sony for saving one more generation of video gaming.
As a long time Xbox fan and proud owner of 2 360's, i will be making the switch to PS4 this year, and won't look back.
Sony wants to win some votes. Just waiting on the price.
Sony in my opinion just won next gen. Flat out beat them. Why go through MC red tape when Sony has none? Sony, Sony, Sony, Sony, WAHHHOOO. To much "wahhoo"?
Sorry, just really happy with Sony putting gamers first and super pumped for next gen.
I can finally stop worrying about not having access to the internet for my console.
I guess I'm going back to Sony. And very happy about it.
This was the best news of the whole night. PS$ kicks ass. MS can tuck tail; haul ass. Lol!
Pretty obvious that Sony has the extreme early edge. It's called goodwill, and Sony has plenty with consumers right now.
Sony uses no used games or always on policies! It's super effective!
Well that's it. I'm getting a PS4.
Brutality!!!! $399 ddollars
