The lights are on
Update: Microsoft has released high-res images of the new 360 console. Check them out in the media gallery below.
Original Story: Microsoft kicked off its E3 press conference by revealing a newly redesigned Xbox 360, along with some bonuses for Xbox Live Gold subscribers.
Microsoft's Yusuf Mehdi didn't say much about the redesigned Xbox 360, other than that it's smaller and sleeker than the Xbox Slim, and that it is available for purchase starting today. Mehdi also announced that Xbox Live Gold members will be receiving two free games per month starting in July, running until the launch of the Xbox One. Two of the games included for free download will be Assassin's Creed II and Halo 3.

People without a console at the moment will be happy then for when they can get one, since they won't be leaving the 360 for another 5 years it makes sense for the people who get the next-gen consoles right away when they're released.
Whoa, free games? Finally! Looking forward to playing Assassin's Creed II for the first time!
That is definitely the ugliest version of the 360 available, IMO.
Dang. That's a great steal. How much? At this rate, I'm more interested in this than X-Bone's $500 price tag. Still dream of playing Halo 4 someday.
Marketing a couple of free games for the next few months is "good social media." I have been with Xbox since day one and have only recently had some issues that are unresolved since March of this year, but looking into the new console and comparing to the other competitor, I see a lot more use on the other side of the fence.
The controller Sony is pushing even has touch screen and the PS3 (older model) came with 500GB HDD, Bluetooth, Blu Ray, and wireless! Microsoft still hasn't got it together and with a $500 price tag this will fall in the dump with Windows 8.
I am bothered at the idea of contemplating a switchover, but the games are more broad and the online service of Sony is better.
Come on Google get it rolling! Game On!, Rob
BTW!...isn't it funny how Microsoft has a browser for Xbox Live, but you can't use Google on it?!
4 gb.. belf
Ok. So tell me how this new 360 is worth it?
if it can run XBone games I'm sold, also only 4gbs?
love ya xbox just love ya, bout time you reward your flock we always wondered did microsoft care for us now we know, 10 free games 2 a month until november. badarse!!
I already have those... I bet most people do, in fact,
Looks better than the xbox one.
lol looks like the xbox one
I owned both AC II and Halo 3, but sadly traded them in, so right now I'm stoked that I can get them for free.
Well, Microsoft did say they were going to continue support for the 360 for another 6-8 years and want to sell more of the console. It's not that surprising to me that they would release a new 360 model to fit the same style as the One's. (still a stupid name)
Microsoft is just making the wrong moves all around. I can't imagine buying the XB1 anytime soon. This redesign is terrible.
