Scorpion Vs. Batman Happening Sooner Than You'd Think

by Brian Albert on Jun 07, 2013 at 07:13 AM

Earlier this week, long-time Mortal Kombat fighter Scorpion was revealed to be the latest addition to the Injustice: Gods Among Us cast. Now we know when the yellow, masked ninja will be playable.

On June 11, the Scorpion DLC will be available for $4.99 on the PlayStation Network or 400 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360. For season pass owners, Scorpion is the third entry in a list of four promised characters.

In the video below, Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon talks with co-publisher at DC Comics Jim Lee about Scorpion’s seemingly unusual entry into the DC universe.

“As we made the first Mortal Kombat game, we actually made a comic book to introduce the story,” Boon said. “We felt that, in doing a DC game, to have a guest character who’s kind of rooted in comics seemed like a natural fit for the game.”

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s next downloadable content (DLC) character for DC Comics fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us, infamous Mortal Kombat character Scorpion, will be available for everyone to purchase beginning June 11.  The newly designed version of Scorpion by Jim Lee, Co-Publisher at DC Entertainment, will be on Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for 400 MS Microsoft Points and on PlayStation®Network at a price of $4.99.

Developed by award-winning NetherRealm Studios, Injustice: Gods Among Usintroduces a new franchise in the fighting game genre and a brand new story created in collaboration between NetherRealm Studios, DC Entertainment and comic book writers Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti.  As the story unfolds, players will experience the power, gadgetry and unparalleled strength of some the most popular DC Comics heroes and villains, such as Batman, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Aquaman, The Joker and others, as they engage in epic battles in a world where the line between good and evil is blurred.
