The lights are on
Along with the new trailer for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, Square Enix announced today details on when we’ll be able to get our hands on the final installment of the Final Fantasy XIII story. The game will be available in North America on February 11, 2014, for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
The new game focuses on Lightning as the main and only playable character – a departure for the normal party focus of most Final Fantasy games. Lightning is able to change costumes that affect her abilities, much like the paradigm shifts introduced in the first Final Fantasy XIII. In addition, Square Enix is introducing a new game countdown timer that will see Lightning fighting against time over the course of her adventure.

I thought it was going to come out this year.
FF XIII gets alot of crap but I am looking forward to this. It reminds me of Majora's mask with countdown timer and I am excited for the battle system.
cool. maybe I can save up some money for it after the holiday rush.
Gonna pre-order it as soon as Square Enix announces a special/limited edition.
So, it's pretty much sticking to around the normal release times for the XIII games... Sounds good.
I'm looking forward to it. The first two were good games even if they didn't reach the meteoric heights of hyperbolic fan-gasm that some of the other games in the series have enjoyed. SE just needs better writers is all.
Reminds me of Majora's Mask...
I can't wait! I'm going to wait for the special edition though, Square has awesome special editions. I just can't wait for this game.
How did this game get two sequels? o3O
i might get this just to see lightning's story
I thought 13 was ok but i I really liked 13-2. Im excited for this game.
I wish Final Fantasy would go back to the days of FF8, FF9, and FF10. I miss that old style of turn-based fighting. I played some of FF13 before realizing the current gen of Final Fantasy was no longer for me.
I hate everything about countdown and being timed. Not for me. I play a RPG to play a RPG, not an action game with a timer. Square Enix is just destroying Final Fantasy, with each release. There is a fine line between improving and denaturing a game.
Can't wait for this.
