The lights are on
Due to the success of Sega's campaign to bring Hatsune Miku to the west, everyone's favorite hologram pop star will be coming to a store near you in the form of Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F for the PlayStation 3.
Project Diva F will be available for retail and PSN for those in the US. In Europe, it will be available for download only.
For those currently lost, Hatsune Miku is an animated projection that uses Vocaloid technology to produce synthesized speech in her country of origin, Japan. For the purposes of Hatsune, Vocaloid was used to make pop songs for her to perform. The program is accessible online, which led to thousands of fan-created songs, spreading the popularity of Hatsune Miku and her voice program until she became a phenomenon. Hatsune has performed concerts (all the performance revenue with none of the diva- genius!) and spawned multitudes of merchandise and other forms of entertainment, including video games in Japan.
Project Diva F is a rhythm game similar to most other games of the genre in which the player must tap buttons in time with music and on-screen icons. Only this time, the music is made entirely of Hatsune's Vocaloid songs.
Whether or not Hatsune Miku will capture the masses as she did in her homeland is uncertain, but Sega's campaign's success shows she does have an audience here.
A downloadable demo will be available June 11 for the US, June 12 for Europe.
Can't wait to play Hatsune Miku's first stateside title? Or are songs in high-pitched Japanese tones a little too much? Just plain don't get it? Let us know in the comments.
I wasn't sure if this was going to make it, but I guess it's good.
I've played with the program that can be found online and it is kind of fun. Whether or not a rhythm style game based on it will be enjoyable or not waits to be seen though.

Yeah! All those likes on Facebook finally paid off!
Hotter than parappa da rappa
She seems to be very popular in the us crowd, given that I am constantly stumbling upon fanart and fangroups of her on Facebook.
Oh this chick? First time I saw her was on some 360 Kinect hack.
It'd be cool if it played like this...
