Scorpion Joins Injustice: Gods Among Us, Fatality Not Included

by Mike Futter on Jun 03, 2013 at 04:07 AM

We expect that this news is going to polarize the Injustice: Gods Among Us fan base. The latest DLC character has been announced, and he's awfully familiar, even though he's had a makeover.

Mortal Kombat's Scorpion is the third of four characters that season pass holders will have access to. The new trailer below offers a look at his new costume, designed by DC co-publisher Jim Lee. We also get to see Black Lantern Superman and a quick tease at the end of Martian Manhunter.

No release date is included with the trailer or the press release that accompanied it. For those that didn't opt in for the season pass, Scorpion will be available for $5 on PlayStation Network and 400 Microsoft points on Xbox Live.

When we spoke with Ed Boon, he hinted that there might be more characters released beyond the four included with the season pass. Many were expecting that the pre-purchased content would exclusively delve deeper into DC's enormous back catalog, especially since fans have expressed interest in more obscure characters like Swamp Thing and Static Shock. If you purchased the season pass, how do you feel about a familiar non-DC face joining the cast?
