The lights are on
If you live in the Columbus, Georgia area and take the 13th Street Bridge on your commute, you're going to want to find an alternate route next week. A film crew will be in town shooting the new Need for Speed film from Tuesday through Saturday.
On the bright side, you might get a chance to glimpse a gorgeous McLaren P1, which is featured prominently in the movie. The Dreamworks film is directed by Scott Waugh, who has handled the stunts for Sleeper Cell, xXx, Torque, and many others. The movie features Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Michael Keaton (Batman, Beetlejuice),and Dominic Cooper (Captain America, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter).
The scene being filmed over the Chattahoochee River includes a crash, which is why the bridge will be closed for most of the week. Additional filming has already taken place in other cities in Georgia, including Rome and Macon. Need for Speed is anticipated in theaters on February 7, 2014.
Thanks for the tip, Jeremy.

if it is kind of like fast and furious it might be good
***takes failed fast and furious scripts and rebrands it need for speed**
I live in Georgia. I may just have to go check it out!
Anyone else want to see a Need for Speed:High Stakes II?
Dreamworks? I didn't see that coming. Hopefully all goes well. Wish I could be an extra for a film like this :S
I'm going to sum up everything about making dumb movies based off random games in one word. Hollywood!
They could've just called Fast and Furious 6 Need for Speed and saved themselves the trouble.
I thought maybe a NfS movie would be cool, but with a February release it sounds like the producers don't have a lot of confidence in the project. Oh well. Never know; it could be a sleeper hit.
Wow that is awesome I used to live there
