The lights are on
We know that Microsoft needs to come out of the corner swinging when the company takes the stage a week from Monday at E3. That means lots of exclusives to woo gamers back in after some rocky communication last week.
A new Halo title certainly would make it harder for a segment of the population to say no to Microsoft. Fusible has noticed that domains for Halo: Spartan Assault have recently been registered by MarkMonitor, a company that helps protect brand identity.
The registrations for Halo-SpartanAssault.com (and .net), HaloSpartanAssault.com (and .net), and SpartanAssault.net were initiated on May 30, 2013. Fusible also points out that Halo: Spartan Assault is the name of a piece of fan fiction written in 2009.
After the company needed to initiate action to recover XboxOne.com and XboxOne.net from a domain squatter, it could simply be protecting itself. We certainly wouldn't mind new, diverse takes on the Halo universe, though we likely won't ever see that Halo Wars sequel we've been hoping for.
Stay tuned for our E3 coverage next week to find out if Master Chief (or other Spartans) share the stage at the Xbox One keynote.

I would love a sequel to Halo Wars! ODST was really good too. Leading up to Halo 4 being released I went back and played nearly all of the games again. ODST was a clear favorite. Very moody, solid gameplay, fun missions. I'd be happy with sequels to either but I'd get much more mileage out a Halo Wars game.
Please, just make a Halo 2 remake.
i want a halo wars sequel so badly.....
HALO WARS 2!!!!
Also why wouldn't we see a sequel explain.....well I'm waiting!
How are these registrations noticed? Do registrars publish lists of what domains are registered? I don't really know how the internet works.
Ahh, little things like this are always so tantalizing! Personally I think Halo is one of the few game universes that can really work in almost every game genre. They do FPS' so well and I even like Halo Wars as a console RTS. Whatever this is I hope it's something new for Halo like perhaps a Third-Person, squad-based shooter? I'm going to get it no matter what it turns out to be... it's friggin' Halo!
This was expected. I guess this article is eluding to an RTS game. If Xbox One will not support a keyboard and mouse setup, RTS games are doomed to fail on the platform...again.
i could go for another RTS, Halo Wars was a lot of fun
not gonna lie not a fan of halo wars at all, would be disappointed if that's what they did
HALO WARS 2 DEFINITELY NEEDS TO COME OUT, WITH FLOOD AS A 3RD CLASS.
i hope they make it where you can actually build the base where ever you want this time around that reaaallly annoyed me in halo wars. and i want better zoom in.
I heard Halo died late last year...
Halo Wars was great. Too bad Ensemble closed :(
Halo 5 is going to be a major influence in me buying a Xbox One. I did wait on Halo 3 for a little while but....one can only wait so long D:
