Earthworm Jim Creator Returns To Claymation With Armikrog

by Kyle Hilliard on May 28, 2013 at 03:58 PM

Doug TenNapel is best known for creating Earthworm Jim, and his work on the clay animated point-and-click adventure game The Neverhood. TenNapel has not worked in video games for more than a decade, but thanks to Kickstarter, he is making a return with Armikrog.

TenNapel and Pencil Test Studios have already made substantial progress on the game, showcasing a large amount of impressive animation in its Kickstarter pitch video. According to the video, much of the game's design and puzzles have also already been mapped out. The game will be a point-and-click adventure game, and appears to be a spiritual successor to The Neverhood, with its clay animation, and similar art style.

The team also has an impressive cast of actors already attached to the project with Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite), Rob Paulsen (Pinky and the Brain), and Michael J. Nelson (Mystery Science Theater 3000) among others.

TenNapel and Pencil Test Studios are asking for $900,000 to complete the project, and have already raised just under $100,000 with 29 days to go. To check out the Kickstarter project, head here.
