The lights are on
In New York's Times Square, Lego revealed a new jaw-dropping (and record-breaking) creation. The life-size X-Wing fighter is now the largest Lego model in the world.
An unveiling event took place last week, when Lego showed the gathered crowd the impressive model. It is a 1:1 replica of a "real" X-Wing, measuring 11 feet tall and 43 feet long, with a 44-foot wingspan. It even has R2-D2's head poking out.
The pictures below show the X-Wing in its hanger prior to the reveal. Take a good look, because this is one Lego set you'll never find in stores.

That's badass. I swear it has that pixelated look like something straight out of Minecraft though.
I'm so happy it was an x-wing
I wonder if this can fly....
Ok, but can it fly??? :P
I wonder how much it cost to build that...
I think this thing may have flown. They must've had to helicopter it in. It would have been easy, since it's in a hanger they're already at an air field.
That is QUITE impressive.
Lemme know when they drop it from 100ft....that would be fun to watch.
The issue is that those lego pieces are not original clasic lego blogs. They're gigantic lego pieces.
Lego's aint what they use to be. Now they have all these odd shaped blocs or circles that are make it to easy to make a shape. For what would take 20-100 blogs to make a tire now is just wheel with a block in the middle to attach it.
jaw dropping is right!!! I had a lego project in my GD class and it was fun but man it was tough from a design pint. We could only use 5 legos and had to create an abstract image. But I truly did enjoy it and kept those legos. Time to go buy some more!!
This is pretty awesome. I wonder if you can sit in it? Would it support the weight?
How did they transport it?
wish I had that many legos D:
Incredible! Now they just need a 99 trillion piece Death star Trench to go along with it.
very cool. I would have loved to have got to build that.
