The lights are on
Today, video game peripheral company Turtle Beach that it will be releasing a line of gaming headsets for Microsoft’s Xbox One console.“In Turtle Beach we have a partner that can help Microsoft deliver world class gaming audio experiences to our customers,” said Turtle Beach’s director of strategic alliances Branden Powell. “Turtle Beach has consistently innovated in wireless, surround sound, and other features and we are looking forward to working with them.”This is significant in a couple of ways. One, we’ve received confirmation from Microsoft that the company will not be packing in a Communicator headset in with the Xbox One, as it did with the Xbox 360 (this is presumably because the unit comes with a next-generation Kinect sensor bar in the box). So, any Xbox One owners who want a headset for online multiplayer will have to be out shopping for an aftermarket headset -- making this a potentially much more lucrative market for Turtle Beach than the 360 was.Secondly, Microsoft told Game Informer that the new Xbox controller features a “high speed data port” which will allow for new peripherals to be used -- including stereo headsets -- through the controller. Let’s hope Turtle Beach is looking at that functionality.Full press release on next page

I guess if you're rich all the news about the xbox one may not seem so bad but I'm pretty sure for about 90% of people their wallets are crying if they're thinking about getting the console.
Proprietary accessories and software is how Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo make mo' money. It also provides a market for companies like Turtle Beach to make a profit. Now, the question remains whether Microsoft is giving exclusive rights to Turtle Beach and not providing access for other manufacturers to make products.
ive always wanted to get one for my 360,i guess ill be buying one with xbox one
are there people seriously complaining!? oh my freakin gosh. there is no negative aspect in this at all. this is a huge leap forward so just admit it and buy the dang console because you know its going to be so sweet you just don't want to admit it because it's the cool thing. eat my shorts
This is eggciting news.
I love their products so i will definitely be buying one since i'm not too sure about the kinect microphone. I have a deep voice so i'm concerned with the accuracy of the microphone picking up my voice and commands. I also play my games with a loud 5.1 surround system so i'm curious to see how good the kinect mic works with my existing system before looking to find a headset anyways.
Well, I mean it's not that surprising of course.
This is actually pretty good! If it replace the old mic and it comes in the original boxing then this might enhance my excitement for the One. Need more to be fully excited, but I'm still going to buy it.
Turtle Beach???? I'm in!!! they just have the best headsets in the market so no problems there!!!!
Who cares? The Xbox One looks absolutely horrible.
Every-single-MF-n one of my friend's TB headsets have broken. Congratulations on a crappy partnership. Match made in heaven.
My wired headset that came with my 360 is the only headset that has lasted me. Not the wireless 360 headset or the Turtle beach I have. They should jus make those wired ones again because they're so reliable.
Yeah Turtle Beach loves Microsoft now.
