The lights are on
EA Sports has just announced the current-gen pre-order bonus for FIFA 14, and it will give you more than a leg up on your Ultimate Team in the game.
Pre-ordering a current-gen version of the game (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC) will get you 24 Ultimate Team gold packs doled out once a week for 24 weeks. The packs will consist of 12 cards each, and be the usual mix of players, contracts, a rare item, etc. In the Ultimate Team mode you collect cards for players and other items in order to build a team that you then play in the game against the AI or online.
No word as to what the pre-order bonus(es) for the next-gen versions of the game might be, although EA says you will be able to pre-order them soon. The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game will come out sometime in the next year, and the Xbox One edition features unspecified exclusive Ultimate Team content.
For a brief look at some behind-the-scenes footage of the next-gen versions using EA's Ignite engine (and Messi talking!), take a look at this trio of trailers. To find out about some of FIFA 14's features, here are the early details.
FIFA 14 for the current-gen platforms comes out on September 24.

They're big deal with EA was exclusive content in Ultimate Team? I was under the impression that it was ultimate team. That's a rather weak exclusive
As weird as this may sound, this is one of those games where I would like a special/collector's edition (probably just because I'm a soccer fan). I doubt I'll pick this one up though; FIFA 13's good enough for now.
Preordering from guys who think that the PC is not able to render the ignite engine? NEVER!
I think i'll be skipping out on FIFA from now on... Every time i go over to my buddies house he tells me stories of how he shells out 20 bucks buying packs. I dont ever want to be that dumb.
I haven't picked up 13 so I'll prolly get 14 when it comes out I usually skip a year but i might start skipping 3 years seems like there is more changes like that, anyways I wont preorder; kinda wish they had a special edition that came with a jersey or some socks or a poster of one the great/legendary players I would pay up to $100 for it. I love soccer :D.
FIFA soccer is the premier futbol simulator, but EA makes it ridiculous releasing games at full retail every year. Then they have the gall to charge ludicrous prices on DLC packs. Shove Origin, Online Pass, and etc down my throat.
I would suggest the following for anyone that likes buying sports games:
1) Don't pre-order
2) Wait until the reviews are out
3) Wait until next year's model is announced, then current game & its DLC gets its price slashed
Stop referring to PC as current-gen! It's unprofessional and inaccurate. Regarding FIFA 14 it should be mentioned stand-alone: a current-gen version on the next-gen platform! In the given situation, after they have decided to shaft the PC gamers again, - no money from me for sure, not to mention preordering this garbage.
Pretty nice add-on for a pre-order.
