The lights are on
Games that tie in with movies are usually pretty terrible. Thankfully, with Rockstar at the helm (and a couple decades of distance), The Warriors turned out quite well.
If you missed it when it was released on PlayStation 2, you have another chance to pick up the brawler next week when it hits the PlayStation Network. Starting on May 28, 2013, the title will be available as a PS2 Classic for the price of $9.99.
Rockstar is doing a great job of making its back catalog available, with 12 titles currently available for purchase through Sony's store. With Manhunt, The Warriors, all three PS2 Grand Theft Auto titles, Bully, Max Payne, and more available, one can only hope that these will somehow make their way to the PS4.

No Xbox love though? This was 1 of my favorites on PS2 :''''''(
I wish they would bring this back for the 360 I played this game for days on end
This game is a ton of fun. The beat em up is a forgotten genre.
Rockstar would surprise the **** out of me if they got Smuggler's Run and Oni on the PS2 Classics.
The Warriors is pretty good though, at least I remember it being pretty good. But I don't know how it holds up - other brawlers from that gen, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, don't match up to stuff from today like the fighting in Sleeping Dogs, let alone dedicated action games like Devil May Cry. Still, I'm interested, and it's only $9.99 like all other Ps2 Classics (except for Psychonauts oddly enough; Psychonauts is $4.99 - what a steal!)
dang, wish I hadn't just spent like 20 dollars on the original for ps2....actually wait, I prefer the hard copy anyway.
I just saw this movies like 2 weeks ago on netflix I didn't even know they had made a warriors game, wish they would have rereleased it in glorious HD, still going to get this game.
I have been dying to play this on co-op with my brother for so long. I only had the PSP version but now I can get it on the PS3. I really can't wait!
Sony has been handling the PS2 Classics section pretty well. From most Rockstar games, (GTA 3, San Andreas, Vice City, Bully, etc.) Psychonauts, Fatal Frame 1 and 2, Katamari Damacy, God Hand, etc. Also SMT: Persona 3 FES, of which I got on sale for $4.99 last week :D
Having never played a Persona game, or an SMT game for that matter, I'm looking forward to seeing why so many people love this series.
Rockstar really loves some Sony!
Well I'm satisfied. Nice job, Rockstar, all my hopes for PS2 classics have now come true.
I absolutely loved playing The Warriors on my old PS2. That and San-Andreas were some of my favorite PS2 games. They need to add more REALLY old games like the original DOOM, or Heretic. Maybe Croteam will give the rights to Sony to release all the old games as well as Serious Sam 3 for PS3. I wish....
Now Caaaaaaaan yooooooou diiiiiig iiiiiiiiiiit?
Been on a Warriors kick as of the past two months so consider this dug.
Can't wait to finally play this!
Glorious days of co-op are back.
This game was also on xbox. I even have the disc but it won't play because it isn't compatible on the 360. I'm a xbox guy but I always see sony taking care of the old school gamers unlike microsoft who's just shiting out mindless games like minecraft and worms.
Finally! I have wanted this for a while. Now all that's missing from PSN is Psi-Ops.
Oh, Psi-Ops, how I long for thee...
