Group Skype Calling Coming To Xbox One

by Dan Ryckert on May 21, 2013 at 07:29 AM

Skype connectivity isn't new to gaming consoles, but Microsoft is hoping to make it more of a seamless experience with the Xbox One and Kinect. At the console's reveal today, the publisher showed off how simple it is to chat with a friend while playing a game or doing virtually anything else on the system.

Via the console's "snap mode," it appears easy to nest a live video chat to the side of whatever you're currently doing. Simple video commands are available for ending the call, turning the mic or camera off, or going fullscreen. While this functionality wasn't shown off at the event, the Xbox One is also capable of group video calling via Skype.
