The lights are on
Rockstar's unappreciated, ultra-violent

If you've never played Manhunt, it's one of the
company's more overlooked gems. That said, it's a dark and disturbing ride that's
not for everyone. This official description from Rockstar should give you a
good idea of what's in store:
America is full of run-down, broken rust-belt towns
where nobody cares and anything goes. In Carcer City, nothing matters anymore
and all that's left are cheap thrills. The ultimate rush is the power to grant
life and take it away, for sport. As James Earl Cash, you're a death row inmate
who awakens from the lethal injection chamber to discover he's met a fate
perhaps worse than death. As the star in a sick kill-or-be-killed reality TV
show, your fate is left in the hands of the twisted Director, Lionel
Starkweather. They gave you your life back. Now, they are going to hunt you
Despite its gore, it's also the rare violent game that
at least seems to have something to say about violence, questioning how
complicit the audience is in the violence they witness onscreen.
Manhunt is available for sale on the
PlayStation Store right now. It sells for $9.99. It's rated M for Mature - and that's
a well-earned rating.

Hmmmm...that's interesting for a game that's controversial. I might try this out perhaps.
I also need to pick up Persona 3: FES on PSN since it's $5 right now, that or any later games this Summer!
Hmm, I do love me some stealth caked in gore. I love me some Rockstar, too. Gonna buy this again and get right to snuffing some virtual baddies.
Couldn't get into this game before, but since it's on the PlayStation store, I could either get the original PS2 version ('cause I'm a collector and a sucker for beautiful box art) or get it via PSN, or both.
I bought this cult classic yesterday and I've been having a blast. I wouldn't mind a third entry to the series, but what's the point if they would be obligated to filter the game just like Manhunt 2? I had to use a gameshark to remove the filter from my ps2 copy. If you plan on playing Manhunt 2, make sure you get the superior PC uncut version. It's the way R* games wanted you to play it. m.youtube.com/index
I'd love to see a third game. I disliked the second for it's convoluted plot and over reliance on gunplay, but a third game would be very welcome when stealth games like Dishonored and Mark of the Ninja are bringing back interest to the genre.
The underlook this game got reminds of conker when it was released for N64 after the years it kept popping up more conversation and they had the nice idea to re amp for the xbo, the multiplayer kinda flunked but they did a great job with the campaign. That being said im glad Manhunt is being put out on ps3's market place i had it for ps2 back when it came out. Now im really wishing I got a PS3 instead of 360.
I think this game deserves an HD scrub up myself. Thankfully it's backwards compatible on the 360. But HD would put an extra coat of closs on all the gore.
