The lights are on
David Jaffe is no stranger to four-wheeled aggression, and now the Twisted Metal and Calling All Cars developer is taking his talents to indie developer Pixelbionic and its PC online vehicle combat game Autoduel.
Jaffe is joining Pixelbionic's advisory board as a creative advisor for the company's first game, which will be Kickstarted (details on that to come soon).
"I was super excited when I heard Pixelbionic's vision for Autoduel," said Jaffe. "As a huge fan of the genre, I'm really looking forward to
contributing to the game's vision and design goals."
Autoduel is set in a post-apocalyptic world where players will join one of three groups – The Ratters, The Scavengers, or The Techies – who battle for supremacy in the game's arenas. The game features 20 cars modded to the hilt with weapons, armor, and other vehicular upgrades.
It will be interesting to see what Jaffe contributes to the game, and he certainly has a lot of experience to bring to the table, including some idea of what not to do.

Well if anyone knows about Twisted Met...er...auto duels, it's Jaffe
That guy just can't seem to hold a job. ;)
Allways nice to see new car combat games! love em!
This is very cool news! I do miss this game genre.
Jaffe: "As a huge fan of the genre...."
There, fixed it :)
I'm liking these new press release things you are having on the second page.
Why does it have to be post-apocalypse? Didn't people learn from RAGE that that's played out? Can't we have some fresh, original settings for car combat - remember Vigilante 8 and it's disco-fueled world of the 1970's? God, that was fresh. Twisted Metal doesn't need no stinking post-apocalypse, either. Someone do something new here, please?
Still, I won't write it off yet since it's so early. And Jaffe's involvement is intriguing. I'm just disappointed to hear the "PA" word again...
this game looks and sounds amazing (well if that's a screenshot.) i hope it gets kickstarted, and maybe released on ps4.
Jaffe...if you're doing a car combat game again then REBOOT Twisted Metal! The last one was great and all but c'mon you can do so much better. We also deserve a better story then the PS3 installment.
Twisted Metal clones unite.
So looking forward to this.
The original and the P&P was a blast.
