The lights are on
The Witcher series developer, CD Projekt Red, is offering a free tool set called Redkit which will let modders create non-linear RPGs such as CD Projekt Red's own The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings (shown).
Redkit has just entered the open beta phase, and will let users take advantage of the game's assets or import their own, use a day/night cycle, determine NPC's interactions with the character, place cameras during dialog cutscenes, and more.
Head over to the Redkit official site for further information.

This is really cool! I'm honestly excited to try it out.
Awesome, hopefully we get some amazing mods from the community.
Their tech is really amazing, I'm looking forward to seeing their projects throughout the next generation.
This is exciting. Not saying that I am going to develop something myself, although I might dink around with it someday. It's just that I can't help but wonder what the community is going to come up with.
Very nice of them to release this for free.
I couldn't use that thing if my life depended on it, but I'll be interested to see what other people come up with. There are a lot of possibilities to be explored with that.
just another reason to love this company
I love them so......can't wait for witcher 3
That's an impressive offer.
I hope they put it on Steam Workshop so we can take advantage of the mods more easily.
