The lights are on
Update: The survey is now closed. Thanks for participating!
In anticipation of the reveal and eventual release of the next Xbox, we want to know what Xbox owners think about Microsoft’s consoles.
It seems like only yesterday that Microsoft was taking a gamble by challenging giants Sony and Nintendo with a new console of its own, and now the company is a success in the market and preparing to release the third iteration of the Xbox.
Have you owned the Xbox or Xbox 360? Please take a moment and click on the link below to take a quick survey (some questions may require answers to proceed), the results of which will be used in a future issue of the magazine.

Did not realize how bare bones the Xbox exclusives were until that survey.
Why isn't there an "I only play on the 360" option for 17? I don't have the money to buy another console, and my laptop would blow up playing games.
So far I think I am going to wait until the first batch of consoles are made so any defective issues can get taken care of. It will be my first time waiting after a console launch ever. All I'm asking for microsoft is that u better be able to transfer your existing profile in some way shape or form....
what I love most about Xbox is the downloadable games I hope that continues. and the party chat groups I don't mind pay for live. so most likely am getting the next console
My plan for next gen is to buy a PS3 and play all the exclusives I've been missing out on while I wait for the price of the new consoles to become at least slightly reasonable.
I own both and will own the next one at launch as well.
I've been an early adopter and loyalist of Microsoft consoles ever since I learned that Mirrowind would be released on the original Xbox. I joined Xbox live gold 9 years ago and played Halo 2 online for days straight. It was the most amazing multiplayer experience I had ever had up to that point. I bought a Xbox 360 about 6 months after it was released. For money reasons and because the demand was huge for the first 3 months of it's release it wasn't possible to get it at launch. I received my first three Red Rings of Death(3RROD) about 1 and half years later and it was before Microsoft offered and extended 3 year warranty specifically for the 3RROD. So, naturally, I went out and bought the Arcade version to replace my original. I figured surely they had fixed the issue by now and that this console would be the keeper. Two and a half years later I sent in my Xbox (free of charge because of Microsofts warranty offer) to fix the 3RROD again. When I got it back, it lasted another year and I was hit with the same problem at the beginning of 2013. When I called my warranty had expired but Microsoft extended it so I could get another repair. This repair lasted until last week when I got an E79 1RROD error. Something is wrong with the HDD controller chip. I called Microsoft but no go. My warranty had expired the week before and they wouldn't extend it. Now I don't have a Xbox and I'm stuck longingly looking at one. I know the rumor is that they are planning to release a small version of the xbox 360 later this year, but to wait that long for a new Xbox will be excruciating. One thing is certain. I will not be buying the new console for at least a year to make sure that it is reliable and I'm happy with the direction they take with games and DRM. There is no morale behind this tale. Just my story. If you can glean wisdom from it then more power to you
I've had my Xbox since 2007 and that *** is still running perfect, never had any issues. I even dropped it from by car once! I still remember the days of the Blades...
I had RROD 3 times. The 3rd time they sent me a brand new 360. A year later it got the open tray error soooo frequently. I called Microsoft and they said my warranty ran out. I asked, "shouldn't it be extended because technically you sent me a brand new 360 and not my original?" No go from them.
I was so F'in pissed off I went out and bought a PS3 that day. I really did enjoy it just as much as my 360, but what was lacking was all my friends (real and online).
When the new S model came out I sold my old 360 (the one with open tray error...somehow it stared working again) and my PS3 to Gamestop. Basically I got the new S model for the two systems. So far so good.
I have said and will always say to others who want my opinion, there really isn't a huge difference between the systems. I'd just get the system that your friends have.
I'm planning on getting the new system. It will depend on what rumors are true and what aren't though. I'm not planning on ordering pizza from my XBox either.
I think I made a mistake when they asked me what Xbox 360 game I played the most. It's a toss up between Halo 3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and the first and second Left 4 Dead, and I honestly don't know wich one occupied the most time in my 360's disk tray.
