Lose Your Head Over This Oculus Rift Guillotine Simulator
With the Oculus Rift now getting into the hands of developers around the world, a flood of simulations and tech demos are starting to emerge. The latest comes out of the Exile Game Jam in Vallekilde, Denmark. If you've ever wanted the experience of having your head separated from your body, you can thank Erkki Trummal, Andre' Berlemont, and Morten Burnjberg for this guillotine simulator.
Well, actually, it's not a guillotine simulator. It's a guillotine victim simulator, and it was made in just two days. In the video below, you'll see how the trio enhanced the Disunion experience with body positioning and external stimuli.
The Oculus Rift opens up a number of new possibilities for immersive experiences. This form of experimentation, though macabre, tests not only the capabilities for new methods of interaction with digital experiences, but also how we as a society react to them.
