Updated: EA And Maxis Announce The Sims 4
[Update] Electronic Arts has revealed a little more info about The Sims 4, including the fact that fans don't need to worry about a repeat performance of SimCity.The Sims 4 is a single-player, offline experience with a focus of personalization and sharing.
[Original Story] The Sims is a juggernaut in the simulation space, and the minds behind the series have revealed that a brand new installment is on the way in 2014.
Electronic Arts and Maxis posted the news today, confirming long-standing rumors that a fourth entry is in the works. It has been almost four years since the release of The Sims 3 (pictured above), so the timing seems about right.
Details are scarce at the moment; EA only announced that the game would be coming to PC and Mac in 2014. Interestingly, no other systems were included in the announcement – a surprise considering the success The Sims 3 found on home consoles.
EA says that more information will be revealed later today, so we'll update this story as new details become available.
