The lights are on
It's May 4, which is Star Wars day, so it's a good excuse to do something we like to do anyway: talk about Star Wars.
What Star Wars video game franchise would you like to see make a return? Whether it be by way of sequel, or reboot? Star Wars: Battlefront is an obvious choice (and one that made a surprise appearance today), but what about the slightly more obscure Star Wars video games? How about a new Republic Commando, Bounty Hunter, Podracer, Super Star Wars game, Rogue Squadron, or Masters of Teräs Käsi game?
I would like to see a spiritual successor to Shadows of the Empire, a game I have a special place in my heart for. I don't think it's a particularly great game, but I want to see a new Star Wars game with a diverse set of levels that have you shooting at Storm Troopers and exploring levels in the third person, flying in space and on ice planets, riding speeder bikes, and listening to John Williams' excellent score.
What about you?

Star Wars Rebel Assault
Well, there's the obvious choices of KOTOR 3 and Battlefront 3. I want to see them come back too, but I'll focus my comment on two Star Wars games that don't get as much attention. First, like you Kyle, I grew up on Shadows of the Empire, in fact it's the first Star Wars game I ever played. It's not the best game by any means, but still lots of fun, and I really enjoyed the diverse set of levels and the fact that it took place between movies. I'd love to see a similar adaptation of a lesser known part of the Star Wars lore.
Then there's the Rogue Squadron series. I spent hours both on the N64 original and both of the Gamecube sequels. Unfortunately, the developer of those games, Factor 5, shut down in 2009. Nintendo should totally get together with Disney to find a developer for a fourth Rogue Squadron game...I think a flight combat style game would be great on the Wii U.
Battlefront and Republic Commando. We've been expecting Battlefront for several years now. Where is it???? And I think Republic Commando needs a sequel. They leave that cliffhanger at the end and I personally want to know what became of Sev.
So many... Galactic Battlegrounds, Bounty Hunter, Battlefront (obviously), Jedi Knight, Empire at War...
A top-tier, Old Republic RPG by BioWare, with Mass Effect production values. (I can't stand MMOs.)
Or the story heavy game Telltale said they would like to do, Walking Dead style. But I wouldn't want a cartoony art style like TellTale usually does.
I see every title under the sun brought up, yet it seems like no one has mentioned the Force Unleashed?
Didn't anyone like it? I thought the first one was good. Second one was... meh at the best of times.
Star wars is ok, I'm not really a fan, but hey, different strokes for different folks..
Bounty Hunter and Battlefront.
Well Battlefront was one hell of a game. My friend and I would always play multiplayer when he came over. Story perspective, I would like another Bounty Hunter game for Jango, Boba, or some other badass bounty hunter. Doubt people will revive them. When developers look at this, they will think "People like this? So let's make a space themed Battlefield 3!" -_-... People will always think of one thing over the original idea.
my votes on kotor, rogue squadron, battle front, and JEDI ACADEMY!! =D
commando would be great but really battlefronts what everyone wants and even though it is the easy choice, its the right one.
Yeah the Jedi Knight series is all they need! A new dark forces, a sequel to jedi academy, a new story-line, whatever! Just take Jedi Outcast and make that modernized! Success will be had by all.
Damn, that screenshot brought back some memories.
I'd like to see another Jedi Knight game, but Bounty Hunter II would just be fantastic.
Its one of the best RPG's i've ever played
I would like to see a video game version of Star Wars Epic Duels. Turn based baby, who wouldn't love that ;)
