The lights are on
Insomniac CEO Ted Price says that playing the studio's third-person shooter, Fuse, is believing. Players won't have long to wait, with the announcement that the game's demo is coming next week.
The demo is coming to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 7 in advance of the game's May 28 release date.
In Fuse, players can hop between each of the game's four characters while in combat. Each of the characters has their own unique abilities and skills, and these can be combined with their teammates' powers for devastating effect. Insomniac says that character progression is a big part of the game as well, which could address a central puzzle: How do you become attached to a particular character when you're bouncing around between her and three others?
If you'd like to catch up on the game's story, Insomniac has released a few trailers to get you up to speed on both the heroes and villains. Insomniac streamed about 40 minutes of the game a while back as well, and you can see that over here. (Skip ahead about five minutes to see the gameplay.)

Oh yes! I will definitely try it out!
I'll try the demo, but my expectations are pretty low... They're gonna have to wow me since this whole idea of a game does nothing to spark my interests.
Well I'm glad that a demo is releasing. I really want to like this game, but still skeptical.
Can't wait to check out Brute Force 2! Even though they cut the best character ever, "that Lizard guy" - shame.
If playing is believing, Insomniac, than I believe this will play just like every other 3rd person cover-based shooter this gen. Which makes it's existence rather pointless.
Seriously, nothing about Fuse looks more promising than Overstrike. Y'know what would stand out in the marketplace guys? A game about a group of spies or whatever they used to be. A game that had the style of a grown-up Incredibles, not Fuse's "I look like everything else" aesthetic. A game more about gadgets than shooting everybody in the face. This whole project's life just makes me sad. It's like Insomniac decided to make another shoot-em-and-stab-em game for the 360 crowd since this is their first Microsoft game and that's all the Xbox seems to cater to...
Well, although this game may end up being pretty lame, I'm willing to give the demo a try. I love the new trend of demos going around!
Sweet! Will let me know if I should cancel my preorder or not! I am looking forward to this...
I agree that I liked the Overstrike look with the cel shaded graphics better than the realistic look. However, I think the change was needed so as to stand out from Borderlands since this is aiming to be pretty similar.
Never looked terribly engaging to me, but interested in hearing how the demo plays out.
that's really good for me. because i really do like most of insomniac's games(i.e."Ratchet and Clank"games). and that i'm really looking foreword to playing the demo to see what it is like.
From what I have seen reminds me of Gears of War the way it's cover works and other aspects of the game. But still looks fun to play.
hopefully the demo will tell all
