The lights are on
While Microsoft won't announce the official name for its
next-generation Xbox console until a scheduled event on May 21, it has
registered multiple Internet domains for the name "Xbox Fusion."
The website Fusible spotted the registrations, which include
XboxFusion.com, XboxFusion.info, XboxFusion.biz, XboxFusion.de, and XboxFusion.co.uk.
Obviously, companies register domains for many reasons, so
this may not be indicative that Fusion is the name of the company's next
console. Still, Microsoft has certainly gone out of its way to make sure that it has secured a variety of Xbox Fusion domains. According to Fusible, it also owns the
rights to the domains XboxNext.com and XboxGold.com.

it sounds like a viable console name at least. I could envision the next xbox being called that, Although (from a marketing standpoint) I would assume microsoft would keep continuity with the 360 and name it xbox 720 like everyone has already been naming it.
I hope fusions not the real name, but if it is it better come with Fusion Frenzy 3 as a pack in game. That's the only way this name could be justified I think haha
i can feel the slogans now .. its will fuse together your ...... -_-
Okay, now that's a name sounding a lot like a Sega console. The Sega Fusion.
That sounds more like a service than a console title..... or possibly a shower gel.
it doesnt matter anyways.. if rumors are correct about this machine.. they can call it beast mode win box.. i'm not going to buy it.
Xbox 720 is kinda lame for a next-gen xbox name.
Generic name, but makes perfect sense. MS stated before the original x-box that their reason for creating the x-box was to use it as a Trojan Horse to eventually have an all-in-one living room box that would integrate all of a family's media needs running on their system.
The upgrade to Live (when they had to replace the original system making Halo 2 inoperable) was to get ready for this integration of services in one box. TV/DVR/Movies/Music/Apps/Games all on one device seamlessly integrating features/functionality between them. Hence, Fusion.
I kinda like Fusion, but who knows if it's actually indicative of the final name of the Xbox. Maybe it is... Maybe it is. Regardless, unless Microsoft shows me something spectacular at their event I'm going with Playstation 4 and Wii u. Still, fusion could be a variety of things, a service, a controller even, the event itself, many things could be fusion.
That would be a horrible name for the new console, I'm guessing it is just some service or secondary product. In my opinion the only logical and appropriate names for the next console would be simply "Xbox" or "Xbox Infinity" (8 sideways, coinciding with Windows 8)
Then again maybe they are banking on a next gen Fusion Frenzy! :b
For some reason, the name Fusion or Xbox Fusion just rubs me the wrong way. Maybe its because most systems have a more unique sounding name. Then again, I guess its similar to the Genesis.
Fusion Frenzy 3 confirmed.
All of these expire early next year and were created in 2004. I don't if I'm not understanding the domain game but that doesn't seem right to me if that's what the new rumored name is. Seems like the domains would have been created more recently, a year ago or so. Not to mention I just dislike the name "Xbox Fusion."
