ESRB Rates GTA 1 And 2 For PlayStation

by Jeff Cork on May 01, 2013 at 04:21 AM

Rockstar's been in full-on Grand Theft Auto V hype mode, but that doesn't mean the past is necessarily forgotten. A pair of ESRB listings point to the first two entries in the series appearing on PlayStation platforms.

A NeoGAF Forums user pulled up the listings below, which you can confirm for yourself by visiting the ratings organization's site. The first two games in the series were released in 1997 and 1999, featuring an aerial view of the carnage. Players would have to wait until 2001's Grand Theft Auto III to get a 3D glimpse of the action.

Sony hasn't made any official announcements about the games coming to its consoles. If you're impatient, you can visit Rockstar's official site and download the PC versions of Grand Theft Auto and Grand Theft Auto 2 at no cost as part of the company's Rockstar Classics program. It's hard to beat free and now.
