[Update] Call Of Duty: Ghosts November Launch And Presence At Xbox Reveal Confirmed

by Mike Futter on May 01, 2013 at 07:07 AM

[Updated] The teaser trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts is available below. Additionally, we have received confirmation of the November 5 launch date. What is unexpected is that Call of Duty: Ghosts will be shown for the first time on May 21, 2013, at the Xbox: The Next Generation Revealed event. It will be available on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and the next Xbox.

Try not to act surprised, but a new Call of Duty game has been announced. The box art leak we shared last week has turned out to be correct, and the full title is Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Not much else is known right now, but we can piece together a few details based on the cover art, the name, and Activision's track record with the series. The figure shown on the front of box seems to have a mask similar to that of Modern Warfare 2's character Lieutenant Simon "Ghost" Riley.

Ghost was killed in action, but not before building a following thanks to a starring role in a limited-run comic series. It could be that Infinity Ward will wind the clock back to put the hero front and center in this year's installment.

An early November release is expected, following in step with past iterations. Black Ops II was released on November 13, Modern Warfare 3 arrived on November 8, and Black Ops was on November 9. A rumored promotional poster spotted by IGN seems to indicate a release on the first Tuesday (November 5) rather than the second.

Now that the cat is out of the bag, we're expecting more details shortly.
