The lights are on
The latest developer diary on Resident Evil: Revelations, which is making its way from the 3DS to current generation home consoles, discusses how the original Resident Evil games influenced Revelations.
Revelations certainly takes a little more time to establish the dark ambiance of its abandoned boat in the middle of the ocean setting, but the focus still seems to be much more focused on action than horror. This is something we've grown to accept for the Resident Evil series, for better or worse.
Resident Evil: Revelations is coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U on May 21.

I beat this already, but on my nephew's 3DS. I'm picking this up because I liked it a lot, best RE since the 4th one, IMO.
Didn't I watch this already?
This game is amazing, but I think at this point more people would be happy with them just using the old games as templates to copy than to keep making games like RE5 and Chris's story in RE6.
So, Capcom did for Revelations what they should have done for 6?
Just use the gameplay of 4,5 and Revelations and you're good to go.
Stay away from 6's gameplay. Might as well play another generic 3rd person shooter that plays better than 6.
Awesome! I can't wait! I love the Resident Evil franchise! :)
thank god they're making something like this again for resident evil. This series only deserves the best and defines itself by sticking to what its good at. Making us scared to open the next door :P
