The lights are on
If you haven't already played Drinkbox Studios Metroid-like brawler Guacamelee then here is your chance to win a download code for the game.
Guacamelee does a brilliant job of blending the Metroid formula with traditional Mexican culture and folklore, but don't just take our word for it. Play the game for yourself. We're giving away codes for the game this weekend.
For your chance to win, simply leave a comment below telling us what your favorite aspect of Mexican culture is and why. The contest closes on Monday and we'll DM the lucky winners their codes. Good luck!

Pinatas and mustaches!
Of course, the food.
But the culture itself has a lot of great history that everyone should read up on.
Lucha Libre! and the tradition of the mask in the Luchador; and how they defend them until the final.
No question the food is OUTSTANDING.
Desperado takes place in Mexico, and the fact that this contest got me onto a Desperado trivia page is saying something...what exactly that is remains a mystery.
My favorite is Lucha Libre Wrestlers. Its all the fun of wrestling with masks. Which just make everything more fun.
Mariachi bands. Those band members have got some skill, and are so well known everywhere. Even if you know nothing about Mexico except for "Taco Bell", lol, you have heard of a mariachi band somewhere.
I love Mexican food.
Luchador films are tied with Day of the Dead for me. I love the comics that were influence by these things as well. I think its the use of color and skulls that attracts me the most.
My favorite part of Mexican culture is, big surprise, the food. Sadly our relationship is one-sided so I will spare you from further details...
The food is great of course but the party's my neighbors would throw when I was a kid were incredible and would last till the wee hours every time.
Cinco de mayo always can use another chance to drink
Día de Muertos. I love the idea of celebrating with someone that has already passed away. And the make up and costumes are awesome too ><
Oh it's simple the lucha libra, I mean who wouldn't want to run around wearing those masks, also cause they look great on chickens
Lucha libre. It is just a ridiculous amount of fun to watch.
Aero Star is the flipping man! Literally!
my favorite aspect of mexican culture is the music. it is fantastic.
The Day of the Dead. A party celebrating death? I need to do that. Maybe while playing Guacamelee *hint hint*
The legend of el chupacabra.
Dia De Los Muertos (The Day of the Dead) because the morbid art on display is crazy good! Who doesn't like skulls and flowers everywhere? And it's a great way to remember those who have passed on yet still remain in the hearts of friends and family.
