Heavenly Sword Movie Swinging Into Homes

by Jeff Cork on Apr 24, 2013 at 11:48 AM

Yesterday, we learned that Ratchet & Clank were getting their very own feature film. They aren't the only Sony heroes that are getting the movie treatment. The company behind the Ratchet & Clank animated film is also working on a movie based on the 2007 PS3 game Heavenly Sword.

Variety reports that a CG Heavenly Sword movie will be coming to home video, though further details weren't revealed. The 2007 game featured the vocal talents of Anna Torv (Fringe) as heroine Nariko and Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) as the conniving King Bohan.

Ninja Theory moved on to develop Enslaved and more recently Capcom's Devil May Cry reboot, but Sony hasn't forgotten about Nariko. Although a planned sequel to the game was scrapped, she appears as a playable character in the fighting game PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
