The lights are on
Yesterday, we learned that Ratchet & Clank were getting their very own feature film. They aren't the only Sony heroes that are getting the movie treatment. The company behind the Ratchet & Clank animated film is also working on a movie based on the 2007 PS3 game Heavenly Sword.
Variety reports that a CG Heavenly Sword movie will be coming to home video, though further details weren't revealed. The 2007 game featured the vocal talents of Anna Torv (Fringe) as heroine Nariko and Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) as the conniving King Bohan.
Ninja Theory moved on to develop Enslaved and more recently Capcom's Devil May Cry reboot, but Sony hasn't forgotten about Nariko. Although a planned sequel to the game was scrapped, she appears as a playable character in the fighting game PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

Sounds interesting. I might check it out when it releases.
Smart move. With the score of viewing options now available at home, I can't help but think this will be way more successful than trying for a theater release.
Here's hoping they work out a deal with Netflix to bring it to streaming quickly.
Sounds good enough, the game seems like it would make a good movie.
I hear the story is good but its not that smart of an idea to make a movie based on a 6 year old game.
Sony Avengers? That... would actually be pretty awesome if done right. Isn't a God of War movie in the works too since a long time ago?
I'll take it, but if I'm being honest I would prefer a sequel to the original game.
Well hopefully it isn't a pile of poop.
This could be a great CG movie, like the Final Fantasy ones.
This makes a lot of sense TBH. I wish we had a second game though.
As excited as i am to hear about this, i really wish they would release a sequel to the first game. :)
Keep these Sony movies coming. More video game movies need to be animated if you ask me. I want Sly Cooper and Jak & Daxter next.
Awesome to hear. Looking forward to this whenever it launches (assuming that it arrives in 2015 or later since the studio is focusing on the Ratchet and Clank movie).
WTF!!!! NO. I loved Nariko. The flying red air, no matter which battle she was in stayed flawless, made that character. Plus Kia was completely insane and hysterical. Lord knows those Axsis arrows truly wanted
me to whip my controller at my TV. I never forget that since 2007.
Deus Ex and now this. Ugh!!!!!!
