The lights are on
Just a little less than three months ago, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata pledged to drastically improve the company's financial performance. With a promise of 100 billion yen operating profit for the coming fiscal year, the news he is about to deliver is nothing short of a setback.
According to Bloomberg, Iwata is set to announce an estimated annual operating shortfall of 18.7 billion yen. Analysts also project an operating profit of 70 billion yen for the fiscal year that began just three weeks ago, though it is very early to put much faith in them, especially as Microsoft and Sony are barely crossing the starting line for the next generation.
Even if those projections are spot-on, the financial performance falls short of Iwata's 100 billion yen commitment. The declining value of the yen against foreign currency has helped Nintendo, but the delays of major releases and a relatively weak library (especially in comparison to last week's impressive 3DS Nintendo Direct presentation), leave many consumers wondering why they should make the move to the Wii U.

I want one just for Lego city undercover.
I really want that game.
Things look grim now, but that will change. First party games and exclusives are Nintendo's strength. They'll announce a new Zelda, Fire Emblem, and Monosoft still has that Xenoblade-ish looking game coming. They'll be fine.
Hmm... I still love Nintendo products. The billon yen thing was a stupid thing to say but its whatever. I still support them. Every company has a major loss at some point.
Without third party support Nintendo will keep slipping , I feel Nintendo will good with the usual exclusives but when it comes to third party games Xbox and Sony seem to sell a lot more copies.
After all of their major announcements at E3 we'll be better able to predict Iwata's future, until then everything might as well just not matter.
Ha, take that Nintendo. You know what you domt hear that Reggie guy running his mouth about how wii u is going to dominate ps3/4 and so on......sorry nitendo but you shouldn't of named it wii u everyone is looking at this as a wii 1.5 far as the casual crowd, from a glimpse it even blends in with the wii box....can't wait till new Xbox and ps4 comes nitendo will be forced to make a Zelda game early and a Mario/lungi game to buy them time but that want save them in the long run
this poor guy is on a losing streak. i'm sure things will turn around, i suppose right now the big question is when.
Release some mutha f***ing games!!! Hell, I want a WiiU, but only if there is something worth playing!!!
